Let me start by admitting I don't look forward to the cold, unlike many of my fellow Canberrans. I specifically planned to visit my brother in Canada in the middle of Canberra's winter and British Columbia's summer, so that I could swim, hike and eat berries everyday rather than be grateful that I have access to hot water for my slops bucket (water bucket used when throwing pots on the wheel). Heading back to Canberra next week wont be so bad as I found a lovely navy wool pea coat at a thrift store yesterday and that and the thought of getting my hands dirty is making me eager to get home and back into the studio.
First up on my return is the Australian Ceramics Open Studios on August 20 and 21 2016. #ACOS2016
ACOS sees studios from all over Australia opening up to the public, you can see how each artists works, some studios offer getting your hands dirty, perhaps a small exhibition of past works and current works for sale. you can view and search all studios at www.australianceramicscommunity.com
This year studio holders at the Canberra Potters Society in Canberra are welcoming you to come and see the center of our universe at 1 Aspenall Street, Watson from 10am - 4pm on Saturday the 20th and Sunday 21st of August 2016.
